Last night Todd and I were watching TV late when we heard a door open and footsteps. We knew it was Nico but waited to see what he would do. We heard him walk into our room, stop and then, realizing we weren't there, burst into the living room looking like a ghost with Tse Tse draped over his head, and hollered "I need someone in bed with me!!!" Ah Nico. I don't think he's spent an entire night in his own bed since we moved.
On Friday, Jashmin and Kiran sent Nico a Jib Jab card of them all break dancing. As you might imagine, Nico found it hilarous. So we played around on the site and made a few videos of our own. The best, by far are the ones with Presley's angry face!!! Nico was almost crying he was laughing so hard.
Todd was on travel most of this week but the kids and I had fun. Grandma and Grandpa sent us a new jogging stroller and Nico pulled out his tools to help me put it together. Grandpa also sent Nico and Iris a cool dune buggy car like Chaz and Presley's. This was a major highlight of Nico's week. He helped me put it all together while Iris and Dad were napping this weekend and both kids LOVED it. Iris likes to ride shotgun and try to hit the pedal with her hand while Nico steers. Our yard isn't big, but Nico is riding it around as much as he can.
We kept busy while Todd was gone. On Wednesday, we took in an outdoor movie at Emory Point where the kids got to run around with a bunch of other kids, play games, listen to music and eat popcorn, all before the movie even started! Nico ran around with a little boy for most of the evening and right before the movie started, they put on Pharrell's Happy (same song as Jib Jab video link above) and this little boy started busting out moves. Not to be intimidated, Nico followed right along - the two of them were the only people standing and dancing in a crowd of people and Nico had not a care in the world. It was great! If only he had some actual moves :)
On Friday, I had a Nico date to to see the Cat in the Hat at the Center for Puppetry Arts. Our second visit in a week! Last week we saw the Squirrel Stole My Underpands, which as you might guess, was a total hit. So back we went to see the Cat and Nico loved it just as much. The Center does a great job engaging the kids and introducing them to puppetry and offers a workshop after each show where they get to make their own puppets. Last week, we took the kit home, but this week we stayed and made fish puppets :) We rounded out our date with a trip to Waffle House and a visit to mommy's temporary office space. All in all, a good Friday.
Alright, back to work for a bit...
