It's Fall!

We are enjoying some gorgeous fall weather in NOVA - mid-70's during the day and nice cool 50's at night. The leaves are beginning to change and the humidity is done for the season. Not too much going on here, but getting used to the new routine of Nico going to preschool. We had Cousin Sara and Eric visit us this month and thoroughly enjoyed our time with them. They might win the prize for seeing and doing the most in one visit. Nico and Iris liked having them here too and taught Sara all about the different instruments in the "Incredibles" theme song. Lucky Sara.  Here are a few pictures from their visit.

And since I couldn't help myself when I saw this "hat" at the store this weekend - here's this for your cuteness overload (and thanks Cousin Niki for the adorable dress).

Nico is really into movie scores these days and asks repeatedly "what's that sound" while listening. So, i've been teaching him about the different instruments as we listen in the car. I thought he might like to see the instruments in real life and took him to a free concert at the Kennedy Center this past weekend. Unfortunately, we'd had to leave his neighborhood buddies to go and when we got there, he was more concerned about where they were than sitting still. But it wasn't a total loss. The view is gorgeous and we enjoyed the atmosphere and a little music on the side.  The fountains were a big draw:
